Stuart Little the founder of Little Fins Pty Ltd grew up on the northern beaches of Sydney before settling on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast in the 1980’s. Stuart’s passion for fishing, the beach and the ocean has driven him to provide fishing products that not only benefit his passion for fishing, but also benefits his passion for the beach and ocean.

Little Fins are manufacturers of a wide range of common fishing sinkers as well as the unique ‘envirotate’ sinker. Little Fins sinkers are made of 100% zinc and non-toxic to handle. If zinc sinkers are discarded into the ocean, they will eventually break down having no negative effects on the environment.

The ‘envirotate’ sinker has fins that alleviate the problem of tangles caused when casting the line using a side cast reel. After many years of beach fishing, Stuart would often become frustrated with his fishing line tangling and he designed the ‘envirotate’ sinker to counteract this problem. Stuart named his sinker the ‘envirotate’ as it rotates to solve the line twist problem as well as decreasing environmental pollutants such as discarded fishing line.

In 2008 Stuart appeared on ABC’s New Inventors with the ‘envirotate’ sinker and he impressed the ABC New Inventors Judges so much that they voted unanimously for the invention and he took out the episode winner award. Whilst Australia enjoys the reputation of its beautiful beaches and fantastic fishing, it is Little Fins aim to provide products that contribute to enjoyable fishing as well as minimising the impact on the environment.
